Apart from looking pretty in a Himalayan salt lamp, Himalayan salt is actually extremely beneficial for your health – both inside and out!

It is far healthier than table salt, which has been stripped out all its minerals in the bleaching process.

Himalayan salt contains a staggering 84 trace minerals – all of which can be utilised by your body for good.

One of the best ways to get your daily dose of this fantastic salt is to drink a concoction called sole in the morning, before your breakfast.

What is Sole?

Himalayan salt sole is simply a mixture of Himalayan salt and water (preferably distilled, or at least filtered).

It is made by using a glass jar, and fully dissolving Himalayan salt in the water until the water is completely saturated with salt.

As well as many health benefits, sole also has ionic and crystalline energetic properties. This is why we advise that you never store your sole in a container with a metal lid, or let it come into contact with any metals – because the sole will cause the metal to react!

As I mentioned before, standard table salt is bleached and stripped of anything that it one had that would be of any benefit.

Drinking a glass of Himalayan salt sole in the morning will give you an instant boost, and will make sure that you are well hydrated to start the day.

How to Make Himalayan Salt Sole

Making sole is very simple, and the first part of the process will only take you a couple of minutes.

Firstly, you will need some Himalayan salt, here is a link to a great brand on Amazon.

You can also pick it up sometimes in local health stores – but if you do, make sure that it is 100% genuine pink Himalayan salt!

To mix things up a little, you can also mix in a bit of Celtic salt, and/or Real salt with your Himalayan rock salt. Both of these are great quality salts, and also contain many beneficial minerals.

Ingredients

The Process

  1. Pour your salt into the jar until it is about a quarter full (either Himalayan salt, Celtic salt, Real salt or a mixture of all three).
  2. Top up the jar with distilled/filtered water until the salt is completely covered. I normally clear the salt with water by a good couple of inches.
  3. Put your lid on the jar and shake it, or give it a stir with your plastic spoon/stirrer.
  4. Leave the jar overnight. If the salt is completely dissolved in the morning, then add more salt and leave it overnight again.
  5. The sole will be ready to use when there is salt left at the bottom of the jar. This means that the water is completely saturated, and it cannot take up any more salt.

As you can see, we use an old Tiana Organic Coconut Butter Jar (750ml) for our sole!

How to Use Sole

When you wake up each morning, mix one teaspoon of sole in with a glass of water in the morning. Try to drink the sole mixture before having your breakfast so that it gets straight into your system.

When you first start taking sole, you may notice that you get a headache. This is simply a detox reaction to the level of minerals in the sole, and is completely normal. It will go away when you get used to taking the sole.

If you need to, then you can start on half a teaspoon a day, and work your way up to having a full teaspoon a day.

Your jar of sole can be kept in a cupboard at room temperature. It is also worth noting that it will not ‘go off’, as the sole itself is naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.

Just make sure that you do not allow any metal objects to come into contact with your sole! Otherwise you risk the metal oxidizing and contaminating the sole.
